All human beings are like travelers floating down the eternal river of time, embarking at a certain point and disembarking again at another point in order to make room for others waiting below the river to come aboard. — Lin Yutang

i flitter and float down the stream of time, winding, rewinding

rainfall blurs the landscapes flashing by

past echoes of lifetimes and laughter and love

some seem too distant to relate, others eerily close

a magnetic connection holds it all together

in a spinning ball of ticking clocks

each life intersecting with the others

sometimes for prominent journeys

sometimes without perception

seasons pass and the ball spins

but i float outside it all in wonder

how strange to see that time

doesn’t actually exist

just another trick

of the imagination
